Overview
This full-day private excursion from Tangier introduces Chefchaouen, the charming mountain village famed for its distinctive blue-washed streets and unhurried pace. Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Rif Mountains, "Morocco's Blue Pearl" stands alone, offering a more intimate atmosphere shaped by history, heritage craft, and landscape.
Founded in 1471, the town developed as a refuge for Andalusian Muslims and Jews, whose influence is still visible in its architecture, urban layout, and traditions. As you move through the medina with a local guide, you’ll pass key landmarks such as the Grand Mosque with its unusual octagonal minaret, the historic kasbah and gardens, and the lively central square of Uta el-Hammam.
Winding lanes reveal small workshops, local markets, and everyday scenes that give Chefchaouen its character. Time is allowed to walk at an easy pace, take in views over the surrounding hills, and pause in one of the town’s cafés before returning to Tangier.
